Dear Sir/Madam,

I am concerned to see that you are bidding for this this item which has the following claim: "This ring was used as the basis for all rings which were used in the movie "The Lord Of The Rings - The Fellowship Of The Ring"

As our company in New Zealand actually created all the rings used in the filming and production of the movie I can only assume the claim is false and misleading.

I attach below an email from the art director of the movie that confirms this.

If you know the answer, I would appreciate an explanation as to what connection there is between the ring you are bidding for and the rings actually used in the movie?

Halfdan,
This is a totally bogus claim. The only "one Ring" used in the movie is the one designed and built by Jens Hansen Gold and Silversmiths of Nelson. New Zealand. Obviously doubles were used during filming and these also all came from Jens's workshop.

Dan Hennah, Supervising Art Director. The Lord Of The Rings.

Ist schon Komisch was
