Just to clarify this -- official rulings are those which appear in an
official rules document (glossary, CR, FAQ) OR which we state
explicitly is intended to be official in a listserve email, message
board post, and/or a website article. It is sometimes necessary for
us to make an official ruling or clarification between official rules
document updates, which nevertheless are effective immediately. In
such an event, we expect our product champions to spread the word to
their local players and TDs who may not see the ruling online. A
printout of the relevant email, post, or article should serve as
sufficient proof of the ruling. If anyone wants to give you a hard
time about it, tell them to email me directly.
